LUMOS OFFSITE: Driving Collaboration + Productivity Through Intentional Experiences

THE ASK

Here are our two main pain points when it comes to our offsites:

  1. The department leaders have numerous responsibilities, and not everyone excels at event planning. How can we provide them with our support?

  2. All offsite experiences are not equitable.

 

What can we do to enhance everyone's experience? Will a playbook be the solve?

THE SOLVE

Creating a playbook may seem like a solution, but they often become stagnant, leading to uninspired experiences. Additionally, a playbook may not effectively support department leads who already have a busy schedule.

To address this, I started by developing general Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for company travel. Then, I collaborated with each department leader to facilitate their offsite events, providing a sample agenda, communication strategies, and templates for a more straightforward plug-and-play approach. According to the data, this method resulted in greater consistency and significantly improved experiences across the organization.
